Nutmeg

Nutmeg grows in the Central Hills of Sri Lanka’s wet zone in abundance and is a large, shady tree that produces a yellowish round fruit.  What they call Nutmeg is actually the harder dark-brown Seed lying inside this fruit. A reddish, thin layer around this Seed is called Mace. Nutmeg and Mace are both powdered and used to enhance the taste buds of cuisines and sweets. It is used as an essential Spice for meat curry preparations in particular and is said to be rich with medicinal values against Cancer.  With its rather strong flavor and pleasant fragrance,  It is said that this wonderful ingredient increases immunity and cures headaches.  Nutmeg has become extremely popular globally as an outstanding spicy ingredient loved by the world
